It is with heavy hearts we tell you that from Friday 28th April 2023 Railway Row Vets is permanently closed.
Caring for all animals has been our ethos since we first opened our doors on 1 Station Street in 1986. For the past 37 years, Mark and I, and all the special people that made up our team over the years, have poured our heart and souls into looking after Emu Plains’ animals, domesticated or not, and their humans, domesticated or not.
But now Railway Row’s journey has come to an end. We are retiring. We would loved to have seen the business carry on beyond us, but sadly it wasn’t to be. The industry has changed a lot since we started our careers. The owner operator is a lost breed of vet, and what was once a thriving industry of small clinics deeply connected to their communities has now been replaced by larger more business-oriented operators. We hope they continue take care of our beloved community.
We would like to thank our many clients and their pets. It has been a privilege to know and serve you over the last 37 years.

Mark graduated from Sydney University in 1983 and worked at various mixed practices on the outskirts of Sydney until opening the Railway Row Veterinary Clinic with Karen in 1986. He's been a part of the furniture ever since.
DR. KAREN DOBSON

VETERINARIAN
Karen also graduated from Sydney Uni in 1983, where she met Mark. Together they opened Railway Row, but individually Karen has become one of the leading bird vets in Sydney. Most days, you'll find her nose-deep in a bird book.
FIGARO
CUDDLER/ESCAPIST
Figaro joined the family nearly 10 years ago. Like most of the team she was a stray in the world until she found her home at Railway Row. Keep an eye out for her when you come in, seriously, she's probably trying to escape.
DELILAH
HIDER/SNOOZER
Delilah is Figaro's younger sister. Coloured like midnight, she's learnt to use her colour to hide (and snooze) all over the clinic. Lately, Delilah has mysteriously gained weight and the team is working hard to find her secret stash.
